Welcome to the forums, newcomer!

Since you're on Windows 10, include the version(not edition) of the OS. As for your motherboard, if it's a prebuilt( Legion T5), what BISO version are you currently on? Please parse the SKU to the unit as well. Did you try uninstalling the wireless adapter's drivers and then reinstalling them in an elevated command, i.e, Right click installer>Run as Administrator?

You also need to mention the distance between the phone and the router and the PC and the router since walls/obstacles will impeded signal transmission.

Where are you measuring the speed? And be exact whether this is MBps or Mbps as they are not the same thing (and mbps doesn't mean anything).

Im just using the google internet speed test and i get Mbps. When I use other websites I get like 200+ but when I download 2 gb items it takes about an hour.

And are the other websites in Mbps or MBps? This is important. And what other websites? The more details and the more accurate those details, the more likely someone can suggest a fix you haven't thought of.

This is a prebuild Legion T5-28IMB05. The os im on is 19042.1466. The router is like 15 feet max away from me, all my devices including my phone and laptop get around 200 Mbps every in the house. When you mean parse the sku do you mean to give you the barcode number thing. I'm not too sure on how to uninstall the drivers using elevated commands.

Yeah all the other websites I've tried are all in Mbps. for example on speedtest by ookla i get 219 Mbps. on fast.com i get 160 Mbps. On att.com i get 175 Mbps. The thing is these don't add up. When i was downloading a small 100mb game on steam it took 30 minutes.

Steam does all kinds of strange stuff. Some games download slow and other fast. It still should be much faster than what you are seeing.

Speedtest sites are actually file downloads it just does not keep them. The main difference is steam is using its own downloader and ports. It actually should be able to run faster because of artificial limitations caused by the browser.

I would try to download something from microsoft site. Something like a windows image will take some time even on a larger connection. Key is it give you time to look performance numbers. You should be able to see the transfer rates in the network tab of the resource monitor.

Not sure about your computer but many come bundled with bloatware that claims it accelerates games network traffic. It mostly just causes issues so you want to uninstall it if you have it. A common name is CFOSspeed. Programs like this will limit downloads to not affect games but they are not real smart
